1. Who We Are

CityVibes ("we," "us," "our") operates the website cityvibes.io and related services. We provide a directory of WhatsApp, Telegram, and Facebook group chats and communities for digital nomads, expats, and travelers, along with AI-generated weekly summaries of group chat activity.

2. What We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service:

Usage data: We collect anonymous analytics on page views and group link clicks to understand which groups are most popular. We do not use third-party tracking pixels or sell this data to advertisers.

Group chat summaries: Summaries are generated automatically and capture general topics without identifying individual users. We do not store raw messages after summaries are generated.

Submitted information: When you submit a group via our Add Group form, we collect the information you provide (group name, link, city, email, etc.).

3. How We Use Your Data

CityVibes lists group chats in a public directory and generates generic AI summaries of group activity. Summaries do not include names, phone numbers, or other personally identifiable information. We collect anonymous click analytics to understand which groups are most popular. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. AI-Generated Summaries

Our AI generates weekly summaries of group chat activity. Summaries capture general topics, recommendations, and vibes of a group without identifying individual users. We do not collect or store personal data from group members. Summaries expire after 7 days and are automatically deleted.

5. Group Admin & Submitter Data

Admin submissions: When a group or community admin submits their group via our Add Group form, we collect the group name, invite link, city, platform, and optionally: category, member count, description, and email address. This data is used solely to review, list, and manage the group in our directory.

Email usage: If you provide your email address, we use it only to communicate about your group listing — such as approval notifications or questions. We do not add you to marketing lists or share your email with third parties.

Removal: Group and community admins can request removal of their group, associated summaries, and any submitted personal data at any time by emailing contact@cityvibes.io.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS) and Cloudflare Workers. All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption. We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

7. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services for hosting, database management, AI processing, and messaging. Each provider has their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies only (session management, login state). We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

9. Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us at contact@cityvibes.io. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to object to processing.

10. Data Retention

AI summaries expire after 7 days. Submitted group information is retained while the group is listed in the directory. If a group is removed, associated data is deleted within 30 days. Anonymized usage analytics may be retained indefinitely.

11. Children

CityVibes is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

12. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via our website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
